His solo version of Tambourine Man is also great!

Yeah! I believe he learned to play guitar this way by first mastering the banjo in bluegrass bands in the very early '60s.
My favourite story about McGuinn is that he followed a guru from Indonesia for a while in the '60s who gave everyone a new name, so McGuinn , who was then Jim, asked for his new name, and he was given...'Roger'. LOL. 'Hey', he says, 'it was the 1960s!'
I think he became Christian later on.
